An African American and Latinx History of the United States (2018) was published by Beacon Press and is part of Beacon’s ReVisioning American History. Spanning more than two hundred years, it is an intersectional history of the shared struggle for African American and Latinx civil rights. The accessible narrative history argues that Latin America, the Caribbean and Africa were integral to the development of democracy in the United States.

From this grassroots perspective, ordinary people sought to build bridges of solidarity between the nations—not walls. Incisive and timely, An African American and Latinx History of the United States is a bottom-up history told from the viewpoint of African American and Latinx people and reveals the ways people addressed issues of the  racism and class inequality.
