SAN LEANDRO, CA: The San Leandro City Council invites the public to attend a work session on Monday, December 10, 2018. At this meeting, the City Council will consider draft policies for inclusion in a new ordinance that would regulate short-term rentals. This meeting follows up on the City Council’s prior action in July to adopt an urgency ordinance establishing a temporary moratorium on non-hosted short-term rentals.
The draft regulations include community feedback provided via an online survey as well as a citywide community meeting that was held on September 24, 2018. Draft policies that the Council will hear about in more detail include a recommended ban on non-hosted short-term rentals, as well as draft policies that would regulate hosted short-term rentals. Hosted short-term rentals are generally considered to include the rental of a portion of a residential unit in which the owner of the property continues to reside on-site.
