The City of San Leandro’s annual Citywide Garage Sale and Recycling Event is scheduled for Saturday, October 7. As part of the event, more than 200 garage sales will be held throughout San Leandro for those hard-to-find items. Download a map and listing of participating households by going to www.recyclesanleandro.org or pick up a copy of the San Leandro Times on Thursday, October 5. The Citywide Garage Sale takes place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Recycling Event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. that day, allows residents to recycle a variety of unwanted household items such as appliances, tires, scrap metal, clean wood, computer equipment, and mattresses at the Alameda County Industries recycling facility.
The Garage Sale and Recycling Event are part of the City’s Neighborhood Cleanup Program that was introduced in April 2003 to keep San Leandro clean and green. The program encourages residents to spruce up their homes and properties and sell or recycle unwanted household items.
