The City of San Leandro is closely following the developments around coronavirus. We care deeply about all of the members of our community and take the evolving nature of the coronavirus very seriously. The City is focused on providing public services, while also closely following the recommendations of the world’s leading health organizations and implementing continuity plans. We are taking the appropriate steps and continue to actively monitor the impact the virus may have on the community.
Due to the Governor's latest Executive Order to protect public health and slow the rate of transmission of COVID-19, certain gatherings as described below are postponed or cancelled for the rest of March 2020 in accordance with the California Department of Public Health guidelines. Events taking place in April 2020 or later will be reviewed on a rolling basis as the public health situation evolves.
Events held in the City’s rental facilities that include 100 people or more are postponed or cancelled at this time. Smaller gatherings held in City facilities that do not allow for social distancing of six feet per person should be postponed or cancelled.
Gatherings held in City facilities that include 10 or more individuals who are at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19 are postponed or cancelled. This includes adults over 50, people who have serious chronic medical conditions, people who are currently or have recently undergone chemotherapy or other treatments that affect the immune system, and people with immune-deficiencies.
We appreciate the public's understanding regarding the inconvenience these cancellations may cause. Please take the time to review the state’s guidelines for gatherings of people in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19. If your event is not cancelled, please take the time to review the CA Dept. of Public Health guidelines for best practices regarding events with gatherings of people in an enclosed space.
