Mayor Stephen H. Cassidy has announced that the City is seeking three individuals with expertise in design or architecture to join the San Leandro Shoreline Advisory Group (SAG). The SAG currently consists of 21-members from the former Shoreline Development Citizens Advisory Committee which worked over three years with the City and Cal-Coast Development to create a Comprehensive Master Plan for the shoreline area. The SAG meets on the third Wednesday of the month from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on an as-needed basis and has met once since City Council ratification of its members June 4, 2012.
The SAG's role is to provide input on items that may come up over the next three years as the Conceptual Master Plan moves through the development and permitting process. The Conceptual Master Plan for approximately 52-acres of San Leandro's shoreline recognizes and blends current uses at the shoreline, such as the Monarch Bay Golf Course and popular Marina Park and par course, and incorporates exciting and news uses, such as a new hotel and conference center, office space and additional dining and recreational opportunities. The plan assumes zero City investment and the development is designed to result in a Shoreline that is self-sustaining.
Applications for appointment to the SAG must be received by the City’s Office of Business Development by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 5, 2012. To view the application, click here or it may be obtained by calling the Office of Business Development at 510/577-3311 or e-mailing email@example.com.
