City Council considered policy options for short-term rental regulations in December 2018 after conducting multiple community input meetings around short-term rental policies in San Leandro.
A moratorium is currently in effect that prohibits the short-term rental of homes to paid guests when the owner of the property is not also living on-site during guests’ stay. A short-term rental is defined as the rental of any residence to paid guests for fewer than 30 days. The interim ordinance that established this policy remains in effect until July 22, 2019.
